Assessment Details

• Topic: Systems Analysis and Development

Purpose

This task checks your understanding of systems analysis and development concepts from Week 1 to Week 6, including project management, SDLC, context diagrams, hardware/software, troubleshooting, and ethical/legal use of ICT.

Conditions

• Supervised, individual assessment.
• Closed book.
• Duration: 60 minutes.
• Recommended reading time: 5 minutes (included within class session).
• All responses must be your own work.

Content Assessed

• Project management: planning, scheduling, budgeting, tracking.
• SDLC methodologies and stages.
• Systems documentation and context diagrams (Yourdon/DeMarco).
• Hardware and software concepts, boot process and storage capacities.
• SOE, CPU components and fetch-execute cycle.
• Troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, code of conduct, ethics, privacy and digital communication etiquette.

Test Structure

• Section A: Short response (20 marks).
• Section B: Applied response (18 marks).
• Section C: Extended response (12 marks).
• Total: 50 marks.

Materials Required

• Black or blue pen.
• Ruler for simple diagram annotation (optional).

Submission and Academic Integrity

• Submit your completed paper at the end of the session.
• No collaboration during the test.
• Any academic misconduct will be managed under school policy.
